Funding

Childcare funding - Changes from September 2024

From the term following their 3rd birthday, all children are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare, funded by the government. Depending on your circumstances, some families are eligible for 30 hours.

From the term following their 2nd birthday, some children are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare, funded by the government.

These funded hours must be used for our nursery sessions only as we do not offer the ‘stretched offer’. All funding is claimed on a termly basis.

From September 2024 - 9 month old funding - if your child turns 2 within a term you may be entitled to the 9 month old funding, but they must be 2 to attend Little Earth.

Some working families are eligible for Tax Free Childcare. For each £8 you put in, the Government adds £2. Some families can claim Universal Credit for some childcare places. You may still be able to access childcare vouchers under an existing employer scheme. We are registered under all the major childcare voucher systems as ‘Old Earth School’. These types of payments can be used to pay for any our our sessions, including before school, after school and holiday club.

Nursery/School Meals

Nursery mid-day sessions (with hot lunch) - you may be entitled to additional help with the cost of these sessions if you receive certain benefits.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 get free infant meals. Other families who receive certain benefits may be entitled to free school meals; these need to be applied for via Calderdale Council.
